FAQs

Patterned tiles can be incredibly strong, especially when made from porcelain. Porcelain tiles are renowned for their exceptional durability and strength, making them an excellent choice for areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms.

The manufacturing process of porcelain tiles involves firing dense natural clay at extremely high temperatures, resulting in a material that is less porous and more durable than ceramic tiles.

One of the best features of porcelain tiles is their ability to withstand regular use without compromising their appearance or structural integrity. The glazed surface of these tiles makes them easily cleanable and resistant to wear and tear, even in the presence of kids or pets. In fact, porcelain tiles are so strong that they can even bear the weight of heavy furniture and cars during strength tests.

This exceptional weight-bearing capacity and long lifespan make porcelain tiles a popular choice for homeowners looking to invest in flooring that is going to last.

Yes, patterned tiles can absolutely be used on both floors and walls to create stunning visual effects and add personality to any space. For floors, patterned tiles are perfect for making a statement in busy areas like hallways.

They come in all sorts of cool designs, from classic Victorian and Moroccan-inspired patterns to modern geometric shapes. What’s more, patterned floor tiles are super durable and slip-resistant, meaning they can handle a lot of foot traffic and spills without cracking or chipping.

Patterned tiles also look fantastic on walls, where they can be used to create eye-catching feature walls, or stylish backsplashes. In bathrooms and kitchens, patterned wall tiles add a touch of style whilst also being easy to clean and easier to maintain than ceramic tiles.

Whether you use patterned tiles on the floor, walls, or both, they are a versatile and stylish option that can totally transform any room in your home. With so many awesome designs to choose from, it's easy to find the perfect patterned tiles to match your taste and create a unique and eye-catching space.

Patterned tiles can add a beautiful and unique touch to any space, but they require care and attention when it comes to cleaning and maintenance. Unlike plain tiles, patterned tiles have intricate designs that can trap dirt and grime more easily. However, with the right techniques and products, you can keep your patterned tiles looking their best for years to come.

Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining the appearance of your patterned tiles. It is important to sweep or vacuum the tiles regularly to remove loose dirt and debris. For a more thorough clean, use a damp mop with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner diluted in water. Make sure to avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the tile surface and dull the pattern.

Grout lines can also be a challenge when it comes to cleaning patterned tiles. Over time, grout can become discoloured and stained, detracting from the overall appearance of your tiles.

First, you should use a grout brush or a small scrub brush to clean the grout lines, working in a circular motion. For more stubborn stains, use a grout cleaner specifically designed for the type of grout you have (e.g., sanded or unsanded).

When selecting patterned tiles for your space, it's essential to consider the size of the room and the overall style you want to achieve. The right pattern can transform a space, adding depth, interest, and personality to any room in your home. However, choosing the wrong pattern can make a room feel overwhelming or out of balance. By taking into account the size and scale of your space, as well as how you want it to look, you can find the perfect patterned tiles to elevate your interior design.

For smaller rooms, it's generally best to opt for tiles with smaller-scale patterns or those with subtle textures and solid colours. Large, bold patterns can make a small space feel even more cramped and cluttered. Instead, choose tiles with delicate designs or those with a monochromatic colour scheme to create a sense of openness and airiness.

On the other hand, larger rooms have the capacity to handle bolder, larger-scale patterns. These spaces can accommodate tiles with intricate designs, vibrant colours, and eye-catching motifs without feeling overpowered. In fact, patterned tiles can be used to define different zones within a larger room, such as creating a focal point in a living room or adding visual interest to a dining area. When choosing tiles for a spacious room, consider the overall style you want to achieve and select patterns that complement your existing decor.

Ultimately, the choice of patterned tiles comes down to your personal style and the look you want to achieve for your space. Whether you prefer bold and vibrant designs or subtle and sophisticated patterns, we have a wide range of patterned tiles available to suit every taste and budget.

To determine how many pattern tiles you need to buy, begin by measuring the area you plan to tile in square metres. For a floor, measure the length and width and multiply them together. For a wall, measure the height and width and multiply.

Next, subtract the area of any windows, doors, or other obstructions that won't be tiled. This gives you the total square metres of tile needed. Our patterned tiles come in packs that cover 1 square metre each. So, divide your total square metres by 1 to work out the number of packs you need to buy.

For example, if your bathroom floor measures 3 metres by 4 metres, that's 12 square metres that you need to buy. It's also a good idea to buy 5-10% more tiles than you need to account for cuts, mistakes, and uneven surfaces.

Be sure to carefully measure and account for all obstructions. Buying the right number of packs upfront will ensure you have enough tiles to complete your project without running short or having too many leftovers.

Very impressed with the service. We were left short of a specific tile when our bathroom supplier went bust. I found them on the Online Tile Shop's website, called them to check and received confirmation they had enough in stock. Delivery was quick and not expensive, and they kept in touch on the delivery progress. Would recommend.

Beautiful tiles that were shipped almost as soon as I ordered. Very happy with the quality. I was not at home for the initial delivery attempt (I expected them to take longer) but this was quickly rearranged for the following day. Great customer service. I would definitely order from here again.

Absolutely first class customer service both online and in person. Delighted with the first set of tiles I purchased, so ordered a second batch of different tiles for another project. I had tiles left over from the first order, so travelled to the store to return and purchase the second order. The staff in store were a delight to deal with and nothing was too much bother. I'll definitely use again!
