Porcelain tiles are created with expert craftsmanship, designed to withstand many years of wear and tear. They’re made from durable clay and powder materials that are pressurised in the tile moulds, then fired to a sizzling hot temperature of approximately 1,200°C. 

This process, called vitrification, is what gives porcelain tiles water-resistant, high-quality and long lasting properties which make them ideal for wet environments such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Porcelain tiles are very hard and dense, so you might be wondering how to cut them when it comes to your next DIY project. We recommend that you use a wet tile saw with a diamond blade, map out where exactly you need to cut the tile and measure the area that you will need to tile before you start. We recommend that you always wear eye protection, gloves, and a dust mask when cutting porcelain tiles. 

Due to the fact that porcelain tiles are so durable, they can be used for a wide variety of rooms, such as kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, laundry rooms, living rooms and even outdoor areas.

For wet environments and walls, we recommend that you use a porcelain tile that has a glazed finish as they are heavily water-resistant and easy to wipe clean. 

For floors in kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor spaces, we recommend that you go for the unglazed tile as they are often ant-slip. Generally, they require less maintenance over time as their unglazed surface makes them less prone to scratches. People like the unglazed look as they often add a rustic, organic touch to the living space, especially if the tile is created with a natural stone effect. The price of the tiles definitely beat competitors and was a speedy delivery. However, the delivery was of poor quality, resulting in many broken tiles due to poor packaging on the pallete and poor delivery to the door. I've since written to customer service to remedy the issue, and even after several days there has been no reply. I'm not sure the savings is worth the hassle.

Very impressed with the service. We were left short of a specific tile when our bathroom supplier went bust. I found them on the Online Tile Shop's website, called them to check and received confirmation they had enough in stock.
